Cambrian House

Cambrian House's mission is to discover and commercialize
software ideas through the wisdom and participation of crowds.
Contributors earn royalties, sharing in the success of the products.

Why Cambrian House?
The Cambrian period witnessed the most explosive episode of organic diversification in earth's history. This event is known as the Cambrian Explosion.
We think this is pretty inspiring, and we view the internet as ground zero for a similar kind of explosion – the explosion of participation. Using the internet to harness the wisdom and participation of crowds, we're seizing creative software ideas from the ether and building them into something real. But ideas beware - only the strongest will survive.
Headquartered in Calgary, Canada - Cambrian House opened its doors in February 2006 and within 12 days had generated revenue (an example of our commitment to fierce speed). In less than 2 months we had 27 customers residing in the US, Canada, Australia, France, Netherlands and the UK; confirming that our community could take other people's ideas and develop them quickly into products sold world-wide.
Our business model is now possible due the emergence of crowdsourcing (aka Web 2.0, "Participation Age", etc.), internet marketing (e.g. Google, Yahoo, etc.), and the internet itself. It's the combination of these that provide us with the instantaneous access to consumer demand which ultimately determines the success of our products.
We take full advantage of the fact that the world is now flat by creating a community that empowers like-minded individuals from all over the world to contribute ideas, code, graphics and other efforts in the creation of meaning.
